Landroid Vision Maintenance

🌷 How do I prepare my Landroid for spring?

Get Your Landroid Ready for Spring!

Spring is here, and it’s time to get your Landroid back in action! Winter might have taken a toll on the garden, but with a little TLC, your robotic mower will be set for a smooth mowing season. Let’s start with the garden, then check software updates, and finish with hardware care.

šŸ” Step 1: Prepare the Garden

Spring cleaning isn’t just for your home—it’s for your lawn, too! Start by clearing away any debris that might have gathered, like sticks, leaves, and branches, so your Landroid can move freely. Check along the edges as well—plants might have grown over the boundary wire, which could block your mower’s path.

🌿 Now for the grass: experts say to wait until it’s at least 5 cm tall before mowing for the first time. When you do start, set your Landroid’s cutting disc to the highest level, then gradually lower it over the following weeks. This gentle approach encourages strong roots, shades the soil to retain moisture, and discourages weeds. Plus, the smaller clippings will decompose faster!

šŸ–„ļø Step 2: Update the Software

While your Landroid has been resting, we’ve been making improvements! Make sure it’s running the latest firmware to enjoy all the latest features. Updating the software is quick and simple—just check for updates in your app’s menu under ā€œFirmware Update.ā€

šŸ”§ Step 3: Check the Hardware

Now, let’s give your Landroid a bit of attention. Start with the charging base: over the winter, ants might have made a cozy nest in there! Unplug the base, give it a thorough cleaning with a brush, and check that it’s still lying flat. Uneven ground from winter rains or snow can affect charging, so ensure the base is stable for good contact with the pins.

šŸ’” Pro tip: Now’s a great time to replace the blades if you haven’t already. Fresh blades mean a clean, precise cut, which keeps your lawn healthier. And before that first mow, place your Landroid on the charging base for a few hours to make sure the battery is fully topped up.

āš ļø Emergency Charging Tip

If your Landroid doesn’t power up when turned on, it may have become completely discharged. This is rare but can be easily resolved with an emergency charge:

  1. Manually dock the Landroid on the charging base, ensuring that the contact pins align precisely with the charging contacts in the middle of the base.

  2. Emergency charging will begin automatically. Once the charge is complete, power on your Landroid, and it will return to its scheduled operation.

With these steps, your Landroid will be ready to tackle the mowing season, leaving you more time to enjoy a beautifully maintained lawn.
