Installing your Landroid is straightforward, especially with proper planning. Here’s a quick guide to help you get started:
Place the charging station where your Landroid will recharge and rest:
Must be within 10m of a power outlet.
Ideally in a shaded, flat area, away from sprinklers.
It can be on your lawn or a hard surface, as long as it’s level.
The boundary wire defines where your Landroid will mow:
Lay it on the surface first, test it, and then bury it a few centimeters deep if needed.
Place the wire at specific distances depending on the surroundings:
26 cm from a step or gravel.
10 cm from a path at the same height.
Keep 1m apart from a neighbor’s robotic mower wire to avoid interference.
To protect certain areas (e.g., flower beds, water features), surround them with the boundary wire. For solid obstacles like trees, Landroid’s bump sensor will handle them without needing extra wiring.
For complex areas, consider using the Off Limits feature. This digital fence is ideal for:
Protecting seasonal equipment (e.g., a trampoline).
Temporarily adjusting the layout of your lawn without connecting to the boundary loop.
The Off Limits digital fence is also great for temporary changes or protecting seasonal items.
Equip your Landroid with the ACS option to enable intelligent obstacle avoidance, allowing it to steer around objects instead of bumping into them.
